I can create original art for you from your photos or mine! I'm also available for shows.
I have been creating art in some form or another for nearly my entire life. One memory that really stands out occurred when I was about eight. I had come across some oil paints and some old "how to" art books in our basement, and I was enthralled. I proceeded to copy a painting of two macaws from one of the books (see Gallery). I was very fortunate in that my family noticed and encouraged my talents and urged me to pursue art by entering local contests, taking me to museums, and providing me with art supplies. In my high school year book, I was voted Best Female Artist, and in college, where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art, I was recognized multiple times for both my art, as well as costume designs in the theater department. Over the past several years many of my designs have been selected for three months of public display in the City of Whittier's banner program. I've taught art at both elementary school and older adult levels, and I really enjoy sharing my love of creating with others. I have shown in our local gallery and have been invited to show my artwork at the Hillcrest Festival of Fine Art, where I also demonstrated creating leaded stained glass. I've also shown at the Sierra Madre Art Fair and Art on Palm, as well as other fairs and shows in Southern California. I continue to grow and develop as an artist as I work with other artists, research past and present artists' styles and techniques, and reflect on my own work.
As an artist, the world around me is my inspiration. Whether I'm at home, around town, or on vacation, I'm always observing my surroundings and taking photos with both my camera and my phone. Then I start thinking about how I can use these photos to inspire my next fine art creation. In addition, there are several artists and art movements that I find inspiring and study to use as reference, such as Alphonse Mucha, John Singer Sargent, and Leonardo di Vinci, as well as the Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts, and Renaissance periods.
Please take a look through my artist GALLERY to see what images are currently available as art prints or photos. I will continue to add new images as well, so keep in touch by entering your email in SUBSCRIBE at the bottom of this page. In addition to the items in my SHOP, I can print any of my images in a wide range of sizes and finishes. For example, prints of my original paintings are available on 80 lb paper or artist quality gallery wrapped canvas. I sign each print by hand and include a narrative about the inspiration about that particular artwork's creation. Prints of my photos are printed on glossy photo paper and come matted in white. Photos and art prints are also available printed on aluminum. In addition, I can create original fine art for you using your own photos and/or ideas. Let's collaborate!
